As the title says, the problem seems to be resloved and we are back in business.
Around 6:30pm PST connectivity at the Data Centre was lost. They are currently looking into it. This is not a problem with the server, just connectivity.
I'll post here when we are connected again.
Well, the tdiclub server is back in operation. The OS, databases, webserver, etc have all been rebuilt from scratch. There are a few minor things you probably won't notice to fix, but all looks fine now.
There should be a performance increase as the database has now been moved off of the IDE drives and on to SCSI.
Let me know if you encounter anything wierd.
Fred
Server rebooted and were back in business until we swap back to the real box later this afternoon.
What can I say.
The temporary box crashed last night. We should be back in an hour.
I was not able to source a replacement motherboard, but the system has been rebuilt and seems fine. Has even been stress tested.
We should be back up in about an hour and this afternoon the normal machine goes back into operation.
Tomorrow afternoon we will be moving the server back into operation and removing the temporary system currently in place. This system was built from the ground up and will hopefully solve some of the issues we have been having. It will also remove the slower machine that was used as a stop gap measure.
We will go down around 3-3:30pm PST and hopefully be back up and running a few hours later.
